How do I charge Otiom?
You charge Otiom with the supplied wireless charger.
You connect your wireless charger to power by plugging it into a wall socket from a charger for a mobile phone or by connecting it to a computer.
To charge your Otiom, simply place it in the middle of the connected wireless charger.

How big is Otiom?
The Otiom device has a convex-shaped surface. It measures 5 cm in diameter, 1 cm in height at the highest point and weighs 36 grammes (approximately the same as two house keys).

Who has developed Otiom?
Otiom has been developed in a major collaboration between the company Acubit, municipalities, educational institutions, and DaneAge Association (Ældre Sagen). The major collaboration has made it possible to develop a product that meets the needs of people with dementia. Otiom also interacts with other technologies used in everyday life and is used in both private homes and public institutions.
Otiom is approved by the National Committee on Health Research Ethics and has been tested in collaboration with professionals, people with dementia and their relatives to ensure that the product functions for users in everyday life.

What do I do when the Otiom alarm is activated?
When the Otiom alarm is activated, all helpers receive a text message that the Otiom user has gone outside of their comfort zone, as well as information about what to do. In the text message, the helpers are asked to indicate whether they can help find the Otiom user. If the helper answers yes, the Otiom user’s route is displayed, and the helper has the option to see the route in Google Maps for the easiest directions to find the Otiom user.

Can a person with dementia wear several Otiom devices simultaneously?
Yes. It is possible to assign several Otiom devices to the same user to reduce the risk of the Otiom user not being located if they lose one Otiom.

When can I cancel my subscription?
The subscription for your Otiom can be cancelled with prior notice of 30 days to the end of a month. You can cancel your subscription by logging into your account on Otiom.com.

When is the Otiom alarm activated?
The Otiom alarm is activated when a customised comfort zone is exceeded. This applies to both geographical and time-based safety levels regarding when the Otiom user can be considered to be away from home.
This is defined by the administrator. You can always see the Otiom user's safty level next to the name in the menu.

How accurate is localisation with Otiom?
Otiom can locate to within 1 metre, both indoors and outdoors, in basements and on floor levels.

Can Otiom locate inside buildings?
Yes. Otiom can be used indoors, outdoors, on different floors of buildings and in cellars.

Is Otiom waterproof?
Yes. Otiom is waterproof because all the electronics are sealed in the Otiom and it cannot be opened.

Can Otiom be washed in the washing machine?
Yes. Otiom can be washed in the washing machine at up to 60 degrees.

Can Otiom be disinfected?
Yes. Otiom can be disinfected to comply with the highest standards in daily hygiene, both in private homes and public institutions.
